The 63rd edition of FIMI, the International Fair of Children’s and Young People’s Fashion, held from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June 2006, closed its doors with the participation of 199 Spanish and 102 international exhibitors, who presented their latest collections for the 2007 Spring Summer season. The event registered 7128 trade visitors, 8.6% from outside Spain. Particularly noteworthy in this regard was the presence of buyers from Greece and the consolidation of visiting Russian trade buyers. Equally notable is the emerging Indian market, whose presence is beginning to be highly valued by exhibitors. A total of 300 exhibiting firms presented over a gross exhibition area of 23,000 square metres the latest trends in a sector with 3000 plus points of sale and a business volume of €1148 million in Spain during the second half of 2005. One of the main new introductions at the event was the presentation of special occasions collections, featured for the first time in a fashion show at FIMI. The most important brands in this sector took part at the Pasarela FIMI Special Occasions: Marla Española, Barcarola, Kobez, Ana M. Remesal-Bugui Bugui, Paqui Barroso and Suay, as well as collections by some of Spain’s leading fashion designers: Francis Montesinos, Hannibal Laguna and Devota & Lomba. +info
